STS vs native Eclipse with Spring IDE plugin -


i've been given several tasks requiring spring , i've been going through tutorials , came across sts on spring.io website built atop eclipse (my favorite ide). on other hand, mentioned discovery several seasoned spring developers switched after told @ workshop several years ago. told sts not stable , guess didn't think spring ide plugin either.

my question: observations valid 3 years ago? , today, several major releases of spring later, still valid? spring ide plugin have same issues.

as 1 of team members @ pivotal working on sts , spring ide, might biased on this... :-) can tell worked quite lot on performance , stability of spring ide , sts implementations - , underlying eclipse implementation improved quite bit again well. recent eclipse platform version 4.4 , upcoming version 4.5 lot better again 4.x versions, compared eclipse 4.2. sts specific parts have improved since well, lot better few years ago, say.

not saying there aren't bugs or issues in sts anymore. continue work on performance ongoing activity - same stability , new features.

i give sts 3.6.4 try see if fits needs. , if not, please let know. if sts doesn't work way expect work, let know, , work on fixing it.

php - How to modify a menu to show sub-menus -

python - Installing PyDev in eclipse is failed -

unable read repository @ http://pydev.sf.net/updates/content.xml. sun.security.validator.validatorexception: pkix path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.suncertpathbuilderexception: unable find valid certification path requested target i installing pydev in eclipse using python, doesn't install successfully. gives above error. happened? how solve error? i had error when trying install on laptop behind corporate firewall. couldn't tell setup of firewall, not sure of root cause. i got passed error installing pydev eclipse when out behind firewall. another way got around have eclipse on non-firewalled machine, install pydev eclipse, , copy whole eclipse directory non-firewalled machine firewalled machine. there better way, , way fix properly, didn't have time work out firewall doing. this on windows 7 machine (yeah know) not work *nix versions installed through package manager yum or apt.
