Most simple "get started" with jmeter -

i'm trying going jmeter, , having trouble finding simple tutorial first "getting started" docs seem verbose, covering kinds of scenarios.

can point me @ take me having downloaded app (i can run it, , gui) point can send single, predefined request, @ specific rate.

just 1 request, no login, nothing. i'd able send @ selected rate.

this 2 things me, first, past wall of info i'm finding , give me starting point experiment. second, it's pretty want anyway; don't want record results, want hit server @ specific steady state rates, , observe os level impact on server when stabilizes (number of threads, memory usage, rate of context switching, cpu usage). i'll more complex things later, maybe.

i'm sure has written achieve this, google keeps finding heavyweight "tomes" off-putting wade through , feel they're wasting huge amounts of time :(

(oh, , did search here, found more complex stuff; hope didn't egg on face duplicate!)
