performance - Multiple image sprites vs one -


i have 2 image sprites on website - 1 "general" sprite , navigation bar images. of images used in way or on front page (some shown when screen shrinks, using media queries).

perhaps apart organisational concerns there reason not combine 2 single file , eliminate request along overhead?
