ubuntu 14.04 - Using patched Powerline fonts for vim-airline -

i've cloned vim-airline pathogen. next cloned patched powerline fonts /usr/local/share/fonts on ubuntu 14.04, , did fc-cache -vf /usr/local/share/fonts. added set guifont=ubuntu\ mono\ for\ powerline\ 11 set laststatus=2 , let g:airline_powerline_fonts=1 in .gvimrc.

i'm having 2 problems: i'm not getting fancy powerline symbols, , spacing on fonts has been increased.

any suggestions?

it's supposed be

set guifont=ubuntu\ mono\ derivative\ powerline\ 11

for problems fonts in future:

  • select font via set guifont=*
  • get fontname set guifont
  • don't forget escape spaces
